General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Data protection laws within the European Union (EU) are strengthened and unified by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). On May 25th, 2018, the regulation became effective and enforceable. EU residents now have greater privacy rights under the GDPR, along with significantly increased obligations regarding data handling and protection.

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
As a privacy-centric company, ByDiscovery welcomes more attention to the subject. As part of preparations for the CCPA, we have made a number of enhancements.

EU-US Privacy Shield Framework
EU-US Privacy Shield Framework has been struck down by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU). The Privacy Shield no longer allows data controllers in the European Union (EU) to rely on certifications of data recipients in the United States (US) to justify the transfer of personal data between the EU and US.
